Leila Shaw, RMT

Leila graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University in 1988.
After working for Body Shop Canada in Toronto for five years she moved back
to Halifax, returned to Dalhousie to begin a Bachelor of Science. Part of
the way through, she applied and was accepted to the West Coast College
of Massage Therapy in Vancouver, B.C. She completed the 2200 hour program
and became board certified in March 1998. Also in 1998 she completed the
Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy course
offered by Armand Ayaltin. While in Vancouver, Leila worked in both Spa
and Clinical environments, the last experience being in a multi-disciplined
medical clinic.
2000 marked the return to Halifax and some new beginnings. She worked at Spryfield Physiotherapy until 2002 and then opened her own practice from her home. Katherine and Leah's Maternity Leave allowed her to join and remain with the Total Kneads team.
Leila has taken a variety of other courses to enhance her Massage Therapy treatments: Aromatherapy, Gary Schwietzer's Deep Tissue Therapy, Visceral Massage, Myofascial Release and Thai Yoga Massage. Currently Leila is working on a degree in Applied Human Nutrition from Mount Saint Vincent University.
Although Leila's schedule is limited, she is grateful for the continued support of her clients and is looking forward to meeting and treating new clients.
